Balance.

Some of my my new work is all about balance. Using wire (as usual) I have created delicate pieces of work with the essence of freedom yet attached or hung. The weight of the piece is counterbalanced by the shape of the wire.

Barbara Hellowell - About Me. I live and work in Huddersfield. I completed a BA (Hons) Contemporary Art Practice degree at Leeds University in 2007. I have recently exhibited at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield, where I am Resident Artist and also have work on show at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. I work with wire of varying gauge and texture. I enjoy the pleasure of working hands -on, the tactile approach. The idea determines the material.
